Manchester United beat Villarreal in dramatic fashion thanks to an injury-time strike from Cristiano Ronaldo, which was applauded by his team-mates on social media.

In the fifth minute of stoppage time on Wednesday night, Ronaldo did something he's done so many times before and popped up with a crucial winner to secure United's first victory in the Champions League this campaign.

Old Trafford went absolutely mad following our no.7's strike in front of the Stretford End and, looking at the celebrations, you could tell the last-gasp triumph meant a lot to the man himself and his team-mates.

Plenty of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's players used social media to celebrate our win and here's a little collection of them...

Jesse Lingard, who had the crucial assist for Ronaldo's goal in the 95th minute, praised the team spirit after a memorable night at Old Trafford. So did, Diogo Dalot and captain of the evening Bruno Fernandes, meanwhile Marcus Rashford simply put some timely fire emojis in his post to celebrate the Portuguese superstar's match-winning strike.

Victor Lindelof simply put "Manchester United things" in his post, referencing the countless times United have won matches right at the death. Fred and David De Gea, in unison with supporters from around the world, believe the drama at the Theatre of Dreams on Wednesday night won't be forgotten for quite some time.

Mason Greenwood, who started his first Champions League match in front of an Old Trafford with fans, described the victory as amazing, whereas Paul Pogba and assistant manager Mike Phelan both lauded the fans for their incredible support as the Reds battled it out for three points.
