How did Real Sociedad warm up for Thursday?
Real Sociedad were unable to get back to winning ways ahead of Thursday's Europa League round-of-16 second leg at Old Trafford.
After the 1-1 draw in San Sebastian last Thursday, they were in action again at the Reale Arena on Sunday night, taking on Sevilla in La Liga.
Coach Imanol Alguacil heavily rotated his side, to keep his players fresh for Thursday's 20:00 kick-off in M16.
Sevilla's Chidera Ejuke scored the only goal of the game, early in the second half, to send them above Real Sociedad in the table, into 10th spot.
Alguacil made a startling eight changes to the XI on duty last week, with only Nayef Aguerd, Igor Zubeldia and Benat Turrientes retaining their place in the side.
Despite making four substitutions at the same time, there was no way through for La Real, who have scored the second-least goals in the division this term.
One of those introduced was key midfielder Martin Zubimendi, who came on for half an hour after missing the United tie due to illness.
The Spain schemer is expected to be influential in the return game, which sees the two teams do battle for the chance to face FCSB or Lyon in the quarter-finals, with the French outfit 3-1 up from their away leg.
The visitors are likely to confirm their travelling squad later in the week, while we will be covering United's open training session and Ruben Amorim's pre-match press conference on Wednesday.
