Fans' Forum: Agenda items to take away

Tuesday 19 December 2023 13:30

Manchester United Fans’ Forum reconvened for the second time this season on Wednesday 13 December at Old Trafford.

Chaired by Collette Roche, chief operating officer, this was the first forum attended by Patrick Stewart in his role as interim chief executive officer.

The Fans’ Forum consists of a club-led update followed by open, stimulating discussion with fan representatives focused on improving supporter experiences across all sections of our fanbase. The work of the Fans’ Forum continues to underpin the club’s fan engagement strategy, helping to inform decision-making and provide fair representation of fan voices.

United announces management transition

Richard Arnold has decided to step down as Chief Executive of Manchester United after 16 years with the club.

Here are the six key takeaways from our 13 December meeting, from matchday operations to ticket donations and new ways to engage with the club.

Over £1million raised via ticket donations for the Manchester United Foundation. By donating your ticket when you cannot attend a match, we have raised over £1 million to support disadvantaged young persons across Greater Manchester. Thank you!

Thank you for paying your respects to Sir Bobby. Fans united around the globe to remember Sir Bobby Charlton, culminating in over 65,000 messages written in the physical and digital book of condolences from across 150 countries.

Making it easier for you to find tickets. Following your feedback and consultation with the Fans' Forum, we have enhanced the online user journey by adding a hospitality checkbox to filter general admission ticket results.

Returned home tickets are reallocated to Official Members. Supporters can return home tickets by donating to the Foundation, forwarding or resale. Returned tickets are preserved exclusively for existing Official Members (our 2023/24 membership scheme closes on 3 January 2024). So far this season over 175,000 tickets have been made available by these avenues.

A new way to keep up with Manchester United ticket and matchday updates. We will be rolling out a new WhatsApp broadcast channel to inform supporters on all things ticketing and matchday updates. Due to launch in 2024.

In less than a month, we’ve intercepted 4.4million bots. Improved diligence measures have enabled us to detect bot attacks, improve capture and track IP owners. Match tickets can only be purchased from tickets.manutd.com or Sportsbreaks.com.

The next Fans’ Forum will take place in March and you can submit supporter feedback for the next meeting via your fan representatives. You can find contact details for fan reps here.
