Team news for Thursday's second leg

Wednesday 24 February 2021 13:39

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has provided an update on his plans for Thursday's Europa League tie with Real Sociedad.

The Reds are 4-0 up after the first leg of the round-of-32 tie in Turin and looking to book our place in Friday's draw for the next stage of the competition.

With Chelsea to come in the Premier League on Sunday, there is the obvious suggestion that Ole will rotate his players for the visit of the Basque outfit.

Paul Pogba, Scott McTominay, Donny van de Beek and Edinson Cavani will still be out for the 20:00 GMT kick-off.

"They'll still be missing," explained Ole to us. "They've not joined training so they won't be ready. no. Paul has been outside on the grass and is starting to step up his recovery but he's not near the team for this game."

"It'll be more or less the same squad that we had against Newcastle," added the boss at his press conference.

"Hannibal is injured for about a month. Amad and Shola will, of course, be involved. They are in the squad but I am not going to tell you if they are starting or not."

NEWS FROM THE VISITORS' CAMP

Defender Robin Le Normand, a late addition to the side when Aritz Elustondo was injured in the warm-up to the first leg, is out through suspension. Elustondo did not play against Alaves at the weekend.

Former Red Adnan Januzaj came on as a substitute in the 4-0 victory in La Liga, as striker Alexander Isak hit a hat-trick.

Luca Sangalli has been out with a long-term knee injury.

"We have to see how the players are," commented coach Imanol Alguacil. "I have to wait to see how some are after playing two games in a row."
