What's happening at United this week?

Monday 12 October 2020 07:00

It's a busy weekend ahead at Manchester United, with players in international action and a trip to Newcastle and St. James' Park on the horizon.

Ole's men will be looking to bounce back after a disappointing result against Tottenham Hotspur in our last Premier League fixture, while United Women and our Under-23s are also in action.

Here's a breakdown of what's happening each day this coming week at United...

MONDAY

A busy seven days starts with the release of a new episode of the UTD Podcast. The special guest this time is former Reds striker Andy Cole, who scored 121 goals in 275 glorious appearances for United, famously helping us to the Treble in 1999. Make sure you give it a listen!

TUESDAY

It's Wes Brown's birthday, with the former United defender turning 41 years old. Maybe he'll be celebrating by watching some of our stars in international action: Eric Bailly's Ivory Coast face Japan in a 15:45 BST kick-off, while Spain play Ukraine at 19:45 BST.

WEDNESDAY

Wednesday sees the end of this international break, with a lot of Solskjaer's men in contention to play. Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire and Dean Henderson are all in the England squad which welcomes Denmark to Wembley, while Daniel James and loanee Dylan Levitt could feature in Wales's game against Bulgaria, Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial's France play Croatia, meanwhile Donny van de Beek and the Netherlands visit Italy in a crunch Nations League tie. Also in that competition, Victor Lindelof's Sweden and Scott McTominay's Scotland will play Portugal and Czech Republic respectively.

THURSDAY

As the United players make their journeys back to Manchester, we'll be wishing Andy Cole a very happy 49th birthday, following his appearance on the UTD Podcast earlier in the week. Have a good one, Coley!

FRIDAY

As the weekend approaches, it's time for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's pre-match press conference ahead of our game away at Newcastle. You can watch his briefing on MUTV, but also on ManUtd.com and in the Official App. On top of that, we’ll be bringing exclusive build-up: everything from interviews and previews to videos and our new prediction game.
