United's Champions League squad announced
Manchester United's Champions League squad has been submitted to UEFA ahead of our opening group fixture against Paris Saint-Germain on 20 October.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's 25-man A list includes new signings Alex Telles, Facundo Pellistri and Edinson Cavani, in addition to our other summer arrival Donny van de Beek.
There must be a minimum of eight locally trained players, four of whom have come through the club's own ranks between 15 and 21, with United's Tim Fosu-Mensah, Lee Grant, Dean Henderson, Jesse Lingard, Harry Maguire, Scott McTominay, Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw, Axel Tuanzebe and Aaron Wan-Bissaka all classified as either 'club trained' or 'association trained'.
Homegrown youngsters aged 21 or younger, such as Mason Greenwood, Teden Mengi and Brandon Williams, can remain on the B list, which could be added to up until midnight before any particular fixture.
UEFA A-LIST SQUAD
Goalkeepers: David De Gea, Dean Henderson, Lee Grant.
Defenders: Eric Bailly, Tim Fosu-Mensah, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, Alex Telles, Axel Tuanzebe, Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Midfielders: Bruno Fernandes, Fred, Daniel James, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, Nemanja Matic, Scott McTominay, Facundo Pellistri, Paul Pogba, Donny van de Beek.
Forwards: Edinson Cavani, Odion Ighalo, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford.
Five substitutions will be permitted in each Champions League game, which means an extended 23-matchday squad can be named.
This may allow some experience for younger players to travel with the group, particularly in the absence of the UEFA Youth League until next year.
