Rovers Trophy tie for United's Under-21s

Saturday 16 November 2019 14:01

Manchester United will face Tranmere Rovers in the knockout stages of the Trophy.

The Reds were entitled to a home tie in the last 32 of the competition but, like Manchester City, asked for dispensation to play the game on the road in a bid to aid the development of the Under-21s players involved. Hence, the clash is set to take place at Prenton Park.

United won all three group games, against Rotherham United, Lincoln City and Doncaster Rovers, and are thoroughly enjoying a first entry into the tournament, which culminates with the final at Wembley on 5 April 2020.

Angel Gomes is brought down against Rotherham United in the Trophy.
