Ella Toone and Alessia Russo

Lionesses return to Carrington

Monday 15 August 2022 13:00

Manchester United's victorious Lionesses reported back to Carrington for pre-season training on Monday, after a well-earned fortnight's break.

Ella Toone, Alessia Russo and Mary Earps were all photographed on their return to work with the club, having all played a huge part in the Euro 2022 success of Sarina Wiegman's side at Wembley last month.

Earps was named in UEFA's team of the tournament, after keeping four clean sheets across the six games, while our outfield players contributed heavily from the bench. Toone scored vital goals in the quarter- and semi-finals and Russo netted arguably the best strike of the competition during the 4-0 semi-final victory over Sweden.

Since that sensational Sunday in the capital, Marc Skinner's side have added another Lioness to our squad, with forward Nikita Parris joining earlier this month from Arsenal.

Parris, who promised United fans they were in for a 'hell of a ride' this season, also joined her new team-mates for the first time earlier today.

The Reds are set to travel to Toulouse this afternoon ahead of our participation in the AMOS Women's French Cup.

We will face Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-final tomorrow (Tuesday) at the 19,500 capacity Stade Ernest-Wallon, with live coverage available on MUTV, the United App and ManUtd.com to fans in the UK, Ireland and Asia.

The game kicks off at 20:00 BST (21:00 local time).

Nikita Parris arrives for training at Carrington.

Bayern Munich and Spanish champions Barcelona are the other clubs taking part, with their semi-final kicking off two hours before ours.

The tournament final is scheduled for Friday.
