De Gea backs Earps and United Women to succeed

Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea says that he is an avid supporter of our women’s team, in particular fellow shot-stopper Mary Earps.

Earps won the 2022 Euros with England’s Lionesses during the summer, and has carried that form into the current season, with Marc Skinner’s Reds flying high in second position in the WSL.

David says that he’s extremely happy for his fellow United keeper, and tries to watch the team, whenever possible.

David De Gea shares his support for United Women and in particular, goalkeeper Mary Earps...

“We talk after the games, say congrats, and I think she’s doing very well,” De Gea said on the latest episode of the UTD Podcast.

“She’s keeping a lot of clean sheets. We talk about clean sheets all the time; she’s doing really well.

“She won the Euro cup with England [and] she’s playing really, really well. I’m trying to watch as much as I can, the women’s team, I think they’re doing really well this season.”

Earps isn’t the only United Women stopper De Gea has crossed paths with, having met former Red Siobhan Chamberlain too.

David praised Chamberlain for her exceptional qualities, both on and off the pitch.

“She’s really nice,” he said. “I met her when she was at Manchester as well.
