WELLENS v ARSENAL (U21s)
Sometimes the goalkeeper just has no chance. Charlie Wellens delivered a stunning free-kick opener in United’s 3-1 loss to Arsenal at the beginning of the month. Even at full stretch, the Gunners' shot-stopper was nowhere near it.
ZELEM v PSG (WOMEN)
Katie Zelem netted the only goal of the game in our impressive Amos French Cup victory over Paris Saint-Germain, assisted by Lucia Garcia, who made an instant impact after coming off the bench. United sprang forward after winning the ball on the halfway line and played an intricate passing move, rounded off by Garcia playing in Zelem. What a finish from the outside of the captain’s boot!
HANSEN-AAROEN v EVERTON (U21s)
Isak Hansen-Aaroen’s lovely dinked finish highlighted a chaotic first half in United’s 2-2 draw with Everton, with all four goals coming inside 40 minutes. The 18-year-old raced onto a brilliant long ball from the back, killing possession with a stunning first touch before lifting it over the goalkeeper.

WILLIAMS v NOTTINGHAM FOREST (U18s)
Numbers in the box are key to this one. Ethan Williams brilliantly anticipated the cross from Sam Murray, who whipped a ferocious ball right into the danger zone to give the Toffees no chance. Williams’ volley was exemplary and highlighted that if you put yourself in a smart position, you might just score.
SANCHO v LIVERPOOL
Rumours has it if you look up ‘coolness’ in the dictionary, there’s an image of Jadon Sancho sitting Liverpool’s defence down in our recent 2-1 victory. The skilful winger kept calm as our rivals tried to shut him down, but with a magic touch and smart shift of weight, the visitors couldn’t halt him.
RASHFORD v LIVERPOOL
There is something so satisfying about a lethal counter-attacking goal. Raphael Varane’s header set United in motion, but Anthony Martial’s control had to be perfect to send Marcus Rashford away. The Frenchman delivered an incisive pass to Rashford, whose pace gave him time to slot beyond Alisson, sending Old Trafford into euphoria.

FORSON v FULHAM (U21s, 2nd)
Omari Forson’s banger was made all the more sweet because it rescued a draw in the 95th minute. His second of the game left the goalkeeper rooted to the spot, rising into the roof of the net at a vital moment for our determined Under-21s.
FERNANDES v SOUTHAMPTON
Bruno Fernandes’ pinpoint volley rounded off an excellent attacking move to grab us three points against the Saints. Anthony Elanga’s burst into the box, Sancho’s smart run and a wicked Diogo Dalot cross led to Bruno put the finishing touch onto a memorable passage of play in a difficult assignment at St. Mary’s.
GARCIA v EVERTON (WOMEN)
Our new Spaniard has impressed during pre-season. Garcia jinked between two Everton defenders and guided the ball home to secure a hard-fought win for Marc Skinner’s side. The 24-year-old’s ability to find space is exciting for the year ahead as she looks to make an instant impact in the Women’s Super League.
