Monday 27 February 2023 16:01

Manchester United have no time to dwell on Sunday’s Carabao Cup final success, with another busy seven days coming up for our men’s, women’s and Academy sides alike.

Erik ten Hag’s side have yet more midweek action in the diary, with domestic trophy focus turning to the Emirates FA Cup, while our women’s team can look forward to a return to action in the WSL.

Aside from on-pitch matters, there are a host of birthdays and key landmarks that we will be celebrating and looking back on.

Below, you will find a comprehensive breakdown of everything that is ahead of the Reds over the course of the next seven days…

SATURDAY

There are perhaps few groups of Reds forwards that fans will remember more fondly than those of the 1990s, and there were iconic moments from two of them, in successive years, to reflect on from this date.

Andy Cole famously scored five goals in our 9-0 win over Ipswich Town at Old Trafford – a feat that has only since been repeated once since, by fellow ex-Reds frontman, Dimitar Berbatov, in December 2010.

One year on, Eric Cantona scored a stunning volley in a crucial 1-0 win away to Newcastle United, giving us a crucial psychological edge over the Magpies in that season’s title race, during which the Reds eventually lifted the Premier League crown.

SUNDAY

Kick-off on Merseyside is set for 16:30 GMT, with live coverage on Sky Sports in the UK. Our Matchday Live show on MUTV begins at 15:25 GMT and it will be followed by live radio commentary for the 90 minutes.

Meanwhile, Skinner's Reds will be looking for a positive result against Leicester City, in what is our first WSL encounter since a goalless draw against Everton three weeks ago. It’s a top-against-bottom league clash, and United will be looking for a win to remain at the division’s summit.

Two of our current Reds also celebrate their birthdays, with Fred and Harry Maguire both turning 30 on the same day. Many happy returns to you both!
