When United Women's 2023/24 season begins

Wednesday 23 August 2023 18:00

Preparations are well under way at Carrington for the start of Manchester United Women’s 2023/24 campaign.

The majority of our Reds reported back to the training base for the beginning of pre-season earlier this month, with sights firmly set on our upcoming term, in which we’ll compete in the UEFA Women’s Champions League for the first time, off the back of a record-high Barclays Women’s Super League finish in 2022/23.

While the hard work has been going on in Manchester, our players who are still to return have been representing their nations at the 2023 Women’s World Cup, with the first of those Reds now beginning to arrive back at the club following their time Down Under.

England’s progression to Sunday’s final means that Mary Earps, Ella Toone and Katie Zelem are all set for some time off before we see them again at Carrington, but their focus will no doubt soon turn towards our big kick-off, which we’re eagerly counting down the days to.

Marc Skinner’s side start the new season away to Aston Villa on Sunday 1 October. The fixture will be played at the Midlands club’s main ground, Villa Park, with kick-off at 12:30 BST, and will be shown live in the UK on BBC Two.

Supporters wishing to attend the match and get behind United on the opening weekend can do so by purchasing tickets here. Coach travel to the stadium is also available.

While our World Cup stars could make their return to competitive action in the contest, summer signings Gemma Evans and Geyse Da Silva Ferreira may be in contention to make their debuts for the club too.

That trip to Villa comes exactly seven days before United Women’s first home match of the campaign, and our return to Leigh Sports Village, for a blockbuster clash with Arsenal (8 October, 12:00 BST).

The meeting sees two sides from last season’s top-three finishers go head-to-head, in a contest that the Reds got the better of the Gunners in on both occasions during the previous term.

You can secure your seat at that match, and every one of our Barclays Women’s Super League home games in 2023/24 with a United Women season ticket.

Adults are priced at £60 (less than £5.50 per game), while over-65s and under-16s are £30 (less than £2.75 per game).
