Who will be United's top scorer?

Monday 09 March 2026 11:38

The race is hotting up to become Manchester United's leading goalscorer in the 2025/26 Premier League.

With nine games left to play, the battle for the respected accolade is wide open, with five men probably feeling they could still come out on top.

Bryan Mbeumo leads the way, with nine, his last strike coming in the 2-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur on 7 February. The Cameroon forward has enjoyed a superb debut campaign at Old Trafford and already has double figures, when you take all competitions into account, following his maiden effort in the Carabao Cup tie at Grimsby Town.

After probably being favourite for some time, the pack are closing in to make for what could be an exciting final run-in.

Who will finish as Manchester United's leading Premier League goalscorer in 2025/26?poll

Who will finish as Manchester United's leading Premier League goalscorer in 2025/26?

Benjamin Sesko is only one goal adrift of Mbeumo, after a productive start to 2026.

Notching seven times in nine league fixtures (eight in 10 if you include the Emirates FA Cup), the Slovenia international only had his first start under Michael Carrick in the recent win over Crystal Palace but has looked extremely potent.

Our Player of the Month for February will be feeling confident he can land the spoils, which would be some achievement considering this is his first season in England.

Bruno Fernandes is close to the leading pair, as his penalty in the victory over Palace was the seventh time he has got on the scoresheet this term.

The Portugal international is always a major threat from set-pieces and open play, and surely cannot be written off in this field, particularly considering his ultra-competitive nature and the fact he often finishes campaigns very strongly.

Casemiro would appear to be a long shot but the header at Newcastle United was his second goal since the start of February, and his sixth of the season.

As he is striving to finish his Reds career on a high, he looks determined to keep popping up when it matters and he was only recently denied another strike when his effort at West Ham United was ruled out for a marginal offside call by VAR.

Matheus Cunha also has six goals to his name, the last of which came in the 3-2 win against Fulham on 1 February.

The Brazil international has taken more shots than any of his colleagues (68) and, with the World Cup on the horizon, and a chance to help United reach Europe in his first term here, the talented forward will be desperate to finish 2025/26 with a bang.

So, who do you think will come out on top? Please have your say using the poll above.
