Salford-born Red who plays on the wing.
Mather fulfilled a dream by scoring twice at Old Trafford in the Under-18s’ run to the FA Youth Cup final, finding the net against Scunthorpe United and Everton. An England youth international at U18 level, Mather made an U21s United debut in August 2021 in the EFL Trophy. He was a key part of the Youth Cup side as well as a regular member of the UEFA Youth League team, contributing plenty of assists in both competitions. In January 2024, he scored all four goals at the Theatre of Dreams in a 4-2 Premier League 2 victory over Norwich City. In total, he played 10 times for Travis Binnion's side, scoring eight times, and also had a loan spell away from the club at Rochdale, bagging his first senior goal against Oxford City and also finding the net in the draw with Oldham Athletic. He joined Tranmere Rovers on loan, along with Louis Jackson, on 3 February 2025, before returning to United in the summer, where he joins back up with the U21s squad.
