Swedish defender Anna Sandberg joined Manchester United in August 2024 from BK Hacken, the first time she had moved outside of her home country in her career.
After a delayed start through injury, the full-back has become an important part of the squad, and managed to notch her first United goal in her second season with the club, an incredible half-volley against Chelsea to bank a crucial point against the former champions. Sandberg also has a handful of caps for Sweden’s senior side, having been the youngest member of her country’s 2023 World Cup squad, where they finished third.
At the end of 2025/26, the Swede was nominated for the WSL's Rising Star award, recognising the immense potential she's shown in her first couple of years with United.
