An attendee of United Women’s Centre of Excellence in her youth, Manchester United re-signed Gabby George from Everton in September 2023.
The Manchester-born full-back made a strong start to life back with the Reds in 2023/24, but her season was prematurely curtailed four games in with an ACL injury. A childhood United fan – and cousin of former Red Jesse Lingard, who provided advice through her rehab – George bounced back strongly the following season, netting her first goal for the club against Newcastle United in the League Cup in December 2024, during a campaign that saw her become a first-team regular. She received her first senior England call-up in 2018, and was recalled after a two-year absence in November 2024, going on to feature against Switzerland at Bramall Lane.
