Women's FA Cup

Women's FA Cup

Manchester United claimed our first major honour in women's football by winning the Adobe Women's FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium on 12 May 2024.

Marc Skinner's side beat Tottenham Hotspur 4-0 in the final thanks to goals from Ella Toone, Rachel Williams and Lucia Garcia (two) in front of a sold-out 76,082 crowd. Having been beaten by Chelsea in the 2023 final just 12 months prior, the Reds dusted themselves off in fine fashion to return and lift the trophy for the very first time in our history. "I feel incredible," said manager Marc Skinner.

"But more importantly, I don't personally just feel incredible for me, I feel incredible because our players [and] our staff have been able to produce it for the best fans in the world. We've wanted that for so long.

"I can't tell you how hard we work every day to do it, and it [had] eluded us up until this point. But that's for all the fans. For every single fan that loves Manchester United. That's for you, and you absolutely deserve that."

The Reds' route to the 2024 final began with a whopping 5-0 win over Newcastle United at Leigh Sports Village in the fourth round and continued with a thrilling 3-1 away victory against Southampton. In the quarter-finals, Skinner's squad made a long journey south to take on Brighton & Hove Albion and racked up another comfortable triumph, 4-0. This set up a scintillating semi-final tie with Chelsea, our conquerors in the previous year's final at Wembley. Two goals from Lucia Garcia and Rachel Williams inside the first 23 minutes at Leigh put us on course for a first-ever win over the West London club. Despite our former player Lauren James pulling one back for the Blues just before half-time, an impressive defensive performance - featuring some world-class saves by England goalkeeper Mary Earps - saw us over the line as 2-1 victors. We were on our way back to Wembley!
