We never give in, we never die

I still cannot believe what happened. At half-time I was receiving text messages from City-supporting friends who were boasting about their imminent title success, and even more from United-supporting mates who were demanding answers. Then, three goals and 45 minutes later, everything had flipped upside down and we were suddenly celebrating a most remarkable comeback. But that’s why we love football and especially our club. We never give in, we never die. Up the Reds!

Paul Pogba
I feel very happy!

"It obviously feels great to score two goals but it's an even better feeling to win against Manchester City and don't let them win today against us in their own stadium. I feel very happy but there is one side of me that is disappointed too because a performance like this in the second half, if we had done this all the season, I think we would be fighting for the title with City or we'd be just in front of them. This is football. It happens. And we have to carry on like this, we're learning. I'm very happy today."

Jose Mourinho
All credit to the boys

"I was really sad with their first goal because it was a corner - the third corner they have scored against us this season. At 2-0, it was important for the players to keep confident, press a little bit higher and wait for a goal. I gave them examples of teams who have produced comebacks at half-time and all credit to the boys because they kept their shape and kept believing. I think mathematically we needed six points to finish in the top four and that is the compulsory objective and to finish second is very, very important. We are doing a better season than last season."

Chris Smalling
We've laid down a marker

"Pride and character got us out of a hole today. We stepped up in the second half and won the game. When you make a mistake like I did in the first half, you want an opportunity to make amends and I'm thankful I did that with the goal. It was easy to crumble at 2-0 but we stood up. I think this result lays down a marker for next season."

Ron Atkinson
Positivity pays off

"That is credit to people having a go. We made things happen in the second half. In the first half, players didn't attempt to do things, it was static and City were wasteful in the first half. But when you have a go, you never know what happens. Anything is possible."

Second half had everything

"Everything about the second half is what you want to see United do, especially in a derby. We attacked, defended, scored goals. Everyone played their part in the second half."
