"It is not over. We have one more game and we'll see what happens. Manchester United can come back. Last year they lost to PSG and they qualified. They have the shirt, which means history and pride."
“Ole made a change or two and we got a goal, which puts a better look on the tie at least. It was one-way traffic in the first half and something obviously had to change. Ole clearly had a word at half-time and he got a response of some kind. We have seen his interview now and he is gutted, he is disappointed, but he is the manager of Manchester United and he has to front up. He still believes and he is trying to send that belief out to supporters. We can still do it, but we will need to be at our very best.”
"There is no question that the better side won on the night. We have to say that. I think they slackened off in the second half and we did respond to be fair, getting the goal from Marcus Rashford to give us some hope. It's a big ask, of course. We will do well to get a result there in the second leg."
“This is a difficult result to take, but I think we were better in the second half and bringing Matic on gave us a little bit more control in midfield, because City ran that midfield battle in the first half and we couldn't get near them. That was the difference, ultimately. They were the better team, but both teams had chances. I don't think it is over yet and there is a big game coming up later this month. If we can do what we did at the Etihad Stadium in December then we can make a game of it.”

The first leg of the semi-final, unfortunately, ends with us on the losing side. Goals from Bernardo Silva and Riyad Mahrez, and an own goal from Andreas Pereira, gave City a 3-0 lead at half-time. United's second-half performance was much improved, and Marcus Rashford pulled one back with 20 minutes to go, but the Reds travel to the Etihad in 22 days with a mountain to climb.

Marcus has a speculative effort from 25 yards, and Claudio Bravo almost makes a meal of it, fumbling the ball wide for a corner.
86 MINS
The Blues' young midfielder is on for Riyad Mahrez.
82 MINS
The City right-back has been cautioned by Mike Dean for moving too far forward with his throw-in.
81 MINS
Mason Greenwood, who set up Rashford's goal, leaves the field to applause from United fans. Anthony Martial is on for the final 10 minutes.
79 MINS
The Brazilian is on for Kevin de Bruyne, who picked up a head injury in an aerial clash with Victor Lindelof.
75 MINS
A goal both created and executed by Academy graduates. Mason Greenwood rightly claims the assist for the way he drove at City's defence and fed Rashford for the finish but props to Angel Gomes too, for the tenacious way in which he put the so-far unflappable Rodri under pressure and won the ball for us close to the halfway line.
73 MINS
The 19-year-old is cautioned for a late aerial challenge on Riyad Mahrez.
70 MINS
The captain slots one in to rouse Old Trafford! The substitute Angel Gomes won the ball in midfield, finding Mason Greenwood. Our young forward then played a delightful ball through to Rashford, who slipped it superbly past Claudio Bravo.
64 MINS
Angel Gomes comes on in place of Daniel James, for his first appearance since the trip to Astana in November.
64 MINS
From the resulting free-kick, our no.10 curls his effort over Claudio Bravo's crossbar.
63 MINS
Mike Dean pulls out a yellow for Rodri for disrupting a United counter-attack.
