Romelu Lukaku
Important to finish the season strongly

“Today we created a lot of chances, but we didn’t score enough. We played at a high tempo, the fans were entertained, we kept a clean sheet. David has been brilliant this season. It’s really important to finish strongly. Everyone has to fight for their place in the team. We have a lot of fixtures coming up this month, we’re ready. On a personal level it’s good, but I play for Manchester United. I have a dream to win trophies, that’s the main objective. It’s all about the trophies.”

Jose Mourinho
Carrick's perfect record as a coach

"One match, one victory. We are preparing him for that. He obviously has the knowledge and the experience as a player, but to be on the other side is a different perspective and to start having these little feelings of being on the coaching staff is only positive for him because when he starts next season he will be much more comfortable."

Jose Mourinho
My assessment of the match

"The first half was one of the best we have played at Old Trafford. The 2-0 lead was very short, not just in terms of our chances to score, but in terms of our quality and the beauty of our football. "The second half was different, we gave them the chance they didn't have in the first half. We gave them the ball to try and create something, we went a little bit down, maybe six of our players had international football that can tire and ache. Overall, we have seven matches to go, three very important points and we want to finish in the best possible position."

Lou Macari
Comfortable win for United

"Sometimes it's difficult to deliver when you don't have a lot to play for. It's a lot more difficult when you're in the position we're in at this time, with City well clear. The lads might know soon that they are definitely in the Champions League next season, and might want to save themselves for the FA Cup game against Spurs at Wembley. But it was one of those games where we were comfortable, and home and dry after the first 45 minutes."

The game was as good as over after 20 minutes. A goal and an assist for Alexis and of course Lukaku reaches the landmark of 100 Premier League goals. That means the Reds leap-frog Liverpool into second place and of course we have a game in hand. Check out the standings below.

A good win with good goals

At half-time we were 2-0 up and we thought the score would be double that by the end of the game, but Swansea did really well in the second half and showed their togetherness. In the end, it’s a good win for United with two good goals.
