January is set to be a busy month for Manchester United, which sees us in action five times, including a derby day clash with Manchester City at Old Trafford.
The first month of the year will also see our first taste of FA Cup action as we host Brighton & Hove Albion in the third round.
The Reds will be tested in many different ways, with Arsenal also to come, a side we ran close on the opening day of the 2025/26 campaign.

LEEDS UNITED
Premier League
Sunday 4th January (12:30 GMT)
Our first encounter of the new year will be away at Elland Road against newly promoted Leeds United on Sunday afternoon. The match will be streamed live on TNT Sports 1 as we hope to get back to winning ways after a 1-1 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Whites, unbeaten in six Premier League matches, currently sit 16th in the league standings – seven points clear of the relegation zone. Meanwhile, we sit in sixth, just three points behind the Champions League places.
Premier League
Wednesday 7th January (20:15 GMT)
After an expected feisty Elland Road encounter, we travel to Turf Moor to face Burnley on Wednesday evening. Winless in ten games, the Clarets will hope to gain some momentum against Brighton & Hove Albion this Saturday. They currently sit 19th in the league standings with just three wins this season. In the reverse fixture we came out 3-2 winners after a last minute penalty scored by skipper Bruno Fernandes. We haven’t tasted defeat against the Clarets is our last six meetings, since a 2-0 defeat in 2020. Former Red, Martin Dubravka, will most likely be between the sticks to feature against his former side. The match will be shown live on Sky Sports Premier League for supporters in the UK.
FA CUP
Sunday 11th January (16:30 GMT)
We will also be in FA Cup action this month when we host Brighton on Sunday 11th January in the third round of the prestigious tournament. We faced the Seagulls in the semi-final of the cup back in 2023, where we left Wembley victorious after a 7-6 penalty shootout victory. More recently, we defeated Brighton 4-2 in October which saw first a first United goal for Matheus Cunha. Once again, we will be welcoming back another former United player in Danny Welbeck who departed the club in 2014.
Premier League
Saturday 17th January (12:30 GMT)
Ruben Amorim’s men will then return to Premier League action as we host rivals, Manchester City on Saturday 17th January. City, who currently sit second in the table at the time of writing, drew 0-0 the last time they visited the Theatre of Dreams. The Sky Blues are on a strong run of form this season, with summer signing Rayan Cherki beginning to shine. We will be aiming to avenge this season’s previous derby day defeat which finished 3-0 after an Erling Haaland double, and a Phil Foden header.
Premier League
Sunday 25 January (16:30 GMT)
The final January fixture sees us travel to North London to face top of the table Arsenal. Most recently, we suffered a slim 1-0 defeat to the Gunners in the opening game of the 2025/26 season after an early goal from Riccardo Calafiori. However, United will hope to take confidence from our their third round FA Cup victory last season, in which we defeated Mikel Arteta’s men on penalties. After the game finished 1-1 after 120 minutes played, some penalty shootout excellence from Altay Bayindir helped us advance to the fourth round.
