Alejandro Garnacho has paid tribute to his family for their constant support throughout his career so far, from being an Academy youngster to Manchester United’s latest Player of the Month.
Garnacho is just starting out on his journey in senior football and the teenager speaks humbly in our interview to mark his award win, stating he must work harder than ever to keep progressing.
Alejandro has remained grounded because of our Academy set-up and the fact he is constantly surrounded by family, who live with him here in Manchester and are regularly seen at matches around the country – and beyond!
As the livewire forward explains in our interview, which is being published in two parts across Tuesday and Wednesday, everybody is feeling proud of his recent achievements.
“My family has always been very close-knit and united behind me,”he told us. “We always do everything together. They’re here living with me, and they give me support on a daily basis.
“Both myself and them in particular are enjoying how well and how nicely things are going at the moment and they’re very proud of me.
“Right from when I first arrived here, I started with the Under-18s here and whenever we were playing an away match somewhere, say two or three hours away, my dad and my family would always come to watch, without fail.
“Just as much back then when I was starting out as they have done right up to the present day.
“So now they really do deserve it, being able to come and see me at stadiums like Old Trafford when they’re always full. They’re always right there for me.”
Part two of Alejandro’s interview will be available to watch on Wednesday.
