Anthony Elanga nominated for the 2022 Golden Boy award

Anthony Elanga is among the 40 players nominated for the Golden Boy award.

The accolade is run by Italian outlet Tuttosport, with a plethora of journalists voting across the year for the best under-21 player among Europe's top-flight leagues.

Initially beginning with a 100-player list in the summer, two rounds of voting has seen it whittled down to 40.

Elanga is among the brightest prospects to make it beyond the initial voting and joins 39 other highly rated youngsters on the esteemed list.
Elanga is one of five Premier League starlets nominated.

The 20-year-old enjoyed somewhat of a breakout period during Ralf Rangnick's interim period last season, culminating in his memorable goal away to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

Erik ten Hag has also shown faith in him this season, and in response The Sweden international has delivered some key performances for the Reds, including a standout display in our 2-1 win over Liverpool last month.

Our winger is joined by prestigious company on the list, too, with the likes of Jude Bellingham, Eduardo Camavinga, and Jamal Musiala also among the nominees.

The final 20 players for the last round of voting is set to be announced next month, and United supporters will no doubt be eagerly waiting to see if Elanga makes the shortlist.

Congratulations, Anthony!
