Elanga: Eriksen is a top player

Manchester United forward Anthony Elanga says he cannot wait to start working alongside Christian Eriksen, following the Danish midfielder's maiden appearence against Atletico Madrid.

Despite suffering a narrow defeat against Diego Simeone's side, the former Brentford man showed his class during a 21-minute cameo at the Ullevaal Stadion, almost providing an assist for club captain Harry Maguire along the way.

With Joao Felix's late strike proving pivotal for the Spanish side, Elanga was keen to look forward, insisting the impression Eriksen has made bodes well for the upcoming season.

'A tough game against tough opposition'video

''In training his little touches and the way he scans around the pitch, he's a top player to work with and you can see he's really good to play with,'' began Elanga, as he spoke to MUTV in Oslo.

''You can see his qualities on the pitch and I'm sure the fans will see more and more of him.''

With the Reds ending their pre-season preparations with another friendly at Old Trafford tomorrow afternoon, much has been made of Erik ten Hag's methods ahead of the clash with Rayo Vallecano.

Having played a large part during Tour 2022, the 20-year-old is also looking forward to developing further under our new Dutch boss.

''It's been really good,'' said Elanga on pre-season. ''The new tactics, new system, I'm really excited about working under him [Ten Hag] this season and improving all areas of my game.''

With a bumper crowd expected to be in attendance at the Theatre of Dreams for the visit of Rayo Vallecano tomorrow, many fans will be excited to see Ten Hag in the Old Trafford dugout for the first time.

Eriksen shows his class

Given our unwavering support back home as well as on our travels so far this summer, Elanga insists he expects the team to be well backed regardless.

''I'm sure I don't really need to say anything as there will be so many fans there anyway,'' he added. ''I'm up for whatever, and if I am playing tomorrow and the fans are coming, I expect it's going to be a really good game.''
