Manchester United’s Barclays Women’s Super League game away to Aston Villa later this month has been rescheduled.
However, our trip to the Midlands has now been rearranged, as it has been picked for live TV.
It will be shown live on the BBC in the UK.
On Saturday (15 April), the Reds will face Brighton & Hove Albion in a Vitality Women’s FA Cup semi-final, before hosting fellow title challengers Arsenal four days later (19 April) in the WSL. Both are set to take place at Leigh Sports Village.
The away match at Villa then rounds off the month, as the first of what will be our final four league fixtures.
United currently occupy top spot in the table, in what is very much a four-way fight to lift the trophy between the Reds, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City.
There are just three points between Skinner’s side in first and City in fourth, ahead of the all-important run-in, which will play out over the coming weeks.
Aston Villa are the best of the rest as it stands, sitting in fifth following an impressive campaign so far under Carla Ward.
Despite the tough test that no doubt awaits from the Midlands outfit, the Reds can take confidence from the reverse meeting between the clubs earlier this season, in which United triumphed 5-0 at Old Trafford back in December. That contest came just over two months after a Continental League Cup clash that was drawn 1-1 after 90 minutes in the Midlands, before Villa won an extra point following a penalty-shootout victory.
