One weekend, two matches: how to follow the action

There is a big weekend ahead for Manchester United, as Erik ten Hag finalises his plans for the upcoming Premier League campaign.

The Reds have fixtures in successive days, as was the case in the manager's first summer in charge, with continental opposition provided by Lens and Athletic Club.

It is expected that Erik will take the opportunity to look closely at his full squad across the games, providing some clues as to the XI he will select when we get under way against Wolves, in the Premier League, on Monday 14 August.

Tickets: United v RC Lens | Old Trafford

From £20 adults, £10 kids

First up, at Old Trafford, is the clash with Ligue 1 runners-up Lens, and tickets are still available for the 12:45 BST kick-off on Saturday. With discounted seats available, it's the perfect chance to see United in action.

The Reds have never faced Raphael Varane's first club in a competitive game and it should be a fascinating test against the French side, who will also be in the 2023/24 Champions League.

Of course, goalkeeper Andre Onana and midfielder Mason Mount could make their first home appearance since signing over the summer.

There is more action to come on Sunday, with Athletic Club taking on Ten Hag's team at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, starting at 16:00 BST.

The Bilbao outfit finished eighth in La Liga last term and have a pedigree for stylish football, as was evidenced when they knocked United out of the Europa League in 2012.

Both matches are being shown live on MUTV, with exclusive build-up and reaction on the official club channel.

Last year, Ten Hag's first match in charge at Old Trafford finished 1-1 against Rayo Vallecano, with Amad scoring our goal

On the previous day, we lost 1-0 to Atletico Madrid in Oslo, with Joao Felix, who would go on to spend the end of last season on loan at Chelsea and hit the net in our 4-1 win over the Blues in April, scoring the only goal.
