Bruno Fernandes has revealed which Manchester United chant, other than his own, he loves to hear the fans sing from the terraces.
As well as the bellows of 'Bruno! Bruno! Bruno' heard at Old Trafford every time the Portuguese lines up a free-kick or scores a goal, Fernandes has his own chant, of course. It draws comparison between him and Cristiano Ronaldo - both having played for Sporting - and was a terrace regular before matches were forced behind closed doors in March 2020.
As fans return, it will no doubt be getting a regular airing once again, and Bruno loves it. But there's one other chant he loves as well...
“I like mine but I really like the one for Anthony Martial!”
the 26-year-old told us.
“It’s probably my favourite. I really like mine and it should be my favourite [laughs], but the one for Anthony is really good.
“Our fans make the song really nice. If I had to choose then I have to say my song is better than Anthony’s, but I like his too!”
After five months out with injury, Anthony Martial returned to training at United in the last couple of weeks and will be desperate to hear his name sung again at the Theatre of Dreams.
Nearing 100 goals for the club, the Frenchman is no stranger to the adulation of an Old Trafford crowd and a lively start to the season would make both him and Bruno delighted.
The last time the pair played together against Leeds United, who we host on Saturday in our opening Premier League fixture, Bruno scored a double and Martial assisted twice.
