Mbeumo emphasising influence at United

Bryan Mbeumo was sorely missed while on Africa Cup of Nations duty, with Cameroon, but is back with a bang in the Premier League.

The shrewd summer signing from Brentford opened the scoring in the Manchester derby win over City and then bagged our first goal in the brilliant 3-2 triumph away to Arsenal.

Such clinical finishing has become his trademark and, of course, he also found the net early in the victory at Liverpool earlier in the campaign, to fuel the belief that he is a big-game player.

Yet Opta stats illustrate the consistent output of our no.19 in the top flight, and how he is clearly one of the best attackers in the division.

Big-game Bryan Mbeumovideo

In the last two seasons, only Liverpool's Mohamed Salah (55) and Manchester City striker Erling Haaland (49) have registered more goal contributions.

Mbeumo has notched 28 times in this period, including his previous work at Brentford, and also supplied eight assists.

He is our current top scorer with nine goals, in all competitions.

Eight of those have come in the league with the other, at Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup, his maiden strike for the Reds.

Opta have also been looking at just how influential the 26-year-old has been, since arriving at Old Trafford.

The Reds won 20 per cent of the matches while Bryan was away in Morocco, representing his country. Of the five matches he missed, we won only one, drew three times and suffered a defeat.

When he has been included in the starting XI, United boast a healthy win-percentage of 50 per cent, earning three points in nine of the 18 fixtures.

Mbeumo has certainly proved his worth and will be looking to score for a third consecutive match for the first time since becoming a Red, when Fulham provide the opposition on Sunday.

In his final home outing for Brentford, he found the net against the Cottagers during a 3-2 defeat in May 2025.
