Leon has been named in a 22-man squad for the games and will hope to make his full international debut at some point.

It is an exciting time for Paraguay, as they have qualified for their first World Cup finals in 16 years.

The country's president, Santiago Pena, declared a national holiday in the wake of the draw with Ecuador that clinched a spot in the United States, Mexico and Canada next summer.

Leon, still only 18, is settling into life in England, following his move from Cerro Porteno in his homeland.

The youngster was an unused substitute for the fourth time this term, in Saturday's 2-0 victory against Sunderland, as he awaits his first-team bow for Ruben Amorim's men.

Congratulations to Diego and we look forward to seeing how he gets on with his country.
