Leon shirt number revealed

Summer signing Diego Leon has been allocated his first shirt number at Manchester United.

The Paraguayan wing-back will wear the no.30 after arriving from Cerro Porteno and helping bolster head coach Ruben Amorim's options in the position.

The 18-year-old has trained with the senior squad and is settling into his new environment well.

Inside Story: Diego Leon's first weeks at United

Leon previously wore no.37 at his previous club and no.4 for Paraguay's Under-20 national team.

The no.30 position at United has been worn by the likes of John O'Shea and Guillermo Varela, and was vacated by keeper Nathan Bishop, who left United in 2023 and recently moved from Sunderland to AFC Wimbledon.

Reds fans may get a first chance to see our South American import in action during the pre-season friendly against Leeds United in Sweden.

The Stockholm showdown on Saturday (14:00 BST kick-off) is live on MUTV.
