Jose Mourinho will make at least one change to the starting XI on Wednesday night when Manchester United host Arsenal at Old Trafford in the Premier League.
Portuguese prospect Diogo Dalot could take Young’s place at right-back against Arsenal, after making his Premier League debut as a substitute at St. Mary’s following a period of injury.
Meanwhile, on the opposite side of the defence, it remains to be seen if Luke Shaw will be available after the left-back was replaced against his former club due to a suspected knock.
Chris Smalling is a doubt after sitting out the match at Southampton, which Eric Bailly also missed out on. Phil Jones started the game and looks set to retain his place against Arsenal.
Meanwhile, Alexis Sanchez will not face his former club after Mourinho confirmed the Chilean is unlikely to play again this year, with the injury that he suffered in training last Thursday.
The boss has expressed his hope that Marcus Rashford will shake off a knock, after he was substituted as a precaution at the weekend.
“He was injured, he was asking to come off,”
Jose said after the draw at Southampton. “Some players with that kind of injury do not play for two weeks. But Marcus, I am pretty sure he will be fine for the next one.”
Romelu Lukaku was also taken off in the 86th minute after appearing to fall awkwardly, but it is currently unclear whether the Belgian is injured.
United v Arsenal kicks off at 20:00 GMT on Wednesday and MUTV subscribers can watch 90 minutes of live build-up to the Premier League game from 18:30 GMT.
