Toone: I want to win more trophies with United

Manchester United midfielder Ella Toone has her sights firmly set on winning trophies as a Red in the coming years, as she explains during her guest appearance on the UTD Podcast.

The brand-new episode featuring the United Women star is now available to listen to exclusively in the United App.

Tooney joined co-hosts David May, Helen Evans and Sam Homewood for an entertaining sit-down discussion which covered an array of topics, including growing up as a United fan, joining the club, winning the Championship in the team's inaugural season, becoming a European champion with England and much, much more.

Ella was also asked about what her targets are, and what she wants to achieve next in what has already been a highly successful young career.

“It’s been a bit of a whirlwind, but I always set goals for myself,”
Ella began.

“Obviously, I want to get in the [England] World Cup squad for the summer.  Obviously, I want to win trophies for Manchester United.

“Everyone wants to win for the club that they’re playing for so, yeah, those are definitely big things that I want to go on in my career.”

Toone will no doubt be eyeing the latter of those ambitions over the coming months, as the business end of the season arrives for Marc Skinner’s side.

The Reds are firmly in the hunt for silverware in the WSL entering the final couple of months of the campaign, and reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup for the first time in the team’s history on Sunday

“Obviously, we’ve come so far in the years that we’ve been a team, but this year’s been unbelievable,” she added.

“We’ve signed some really talented players and the depth in the squad now is really special.

“Obviously, yeah, all of our aims is to win the league.  All of our aims is to win a trophy for Manchester United, so I think this team can go really far if we keep working hard in training and we keep taking each game as it comes.”

Toone: I'm buzzing to wear the shirtvideo

Just like the Championship success of 2018/19 - which Toone gives an insight into during the podcast - any future glory at United would be extra special to her as a lifelong Red.

Ella didn't hide her love for the club during the episode, and spoke about how the feeling of pulling on the famous shirt never gets old.

“I just remember all the kits that I had growing up just because I loved Manchester United,” the midfielder explained, on the UTD Podcast.

“To then actually put it on, to step out and play for Manchester United, was just an unbelievable feeling and, still now, I put the shirt on and I’m buzzing. I’m playing for Man United…

“I still get a buzz out of it five years later from the first time that I did it.  So, it’s still very special for me.
