Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag says he has plenty to consider ahead of our Emirates FA Cup final showdown with Manchester City at Wembley next weekend.
The Reds ended the Premier League in positive fashion on Sunday with a 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium.
Second-half strikes from Diogo Dalot and Rasmus Hojlund ensured we left with all three points but could not improve on an eighth-placed finish for the campaign.
With some returning players having made their way back in recent weeks, Erik spoke to the media following our away triumph and insisted he now has plenty to think about ahead of Saturday's clash with the champions.
“It is not a dilemma, it is a luxury problem,”the boss stated in his post-match press conference
“I think both formations can be a success because, as you know, we can play like the set-up at the Etihad [with Bruno Fernandes as a 'false nine'], where we were a threat with the movement in behind.
”With Rasmus Hojlund in behind and his form, it is absolutely a consideration what we have to consider and have to take.
“Let's have a thought but let's not say we only need 11 players. In a tough final, you need a bench as well.”
Notching his 16th goal of the season in all competitions, the Dane followed this up with another goal, finishing confidently past Seagulls keeper Jason Steele, and Ten Hag reiterated the need for patience with Rasmus's game, even if he is still in line to be leading marksman in his debut campaign in England.
“It could always be better [his form], but don't forget he had three injuries this season,”the Dutchman added when quizzed on our no.11's form.
“He came in with an injury and missed the start, then he got injured before winter, and then got an injury after winter, every time that has broken his rhythm.
”If you score 16 goals for a first season, it is okay, and remember it is also not over. We have the final too.“
