Manchester United have recalled Ethan Wheatley from his loan spell at Northampton Town.
The England Under-20 international played 25 times for the League One side and gained a great deal of valuable experience, in his second stint away from his parent club.
Cobblers boss Kevin Nolan spoke highly of the 19-year-old, expressing his delight for his attitude and application.
Wheatley's most recent goal for Northampton came against league leaders Cardiff City, before his last appearance came in their final game of 2025, a 2-0 defeat at Lee Grant's Huddersfield Town.
The forward spent time with Walsall last term and became our 250th Academy graduate in 2024, as one of his four senior outings for the Reds.
Ethan is the fourth of our young players to head back to Carrington, since the winter transfer window opened.
Toby Collyer (West Brom), Sonny Aljofree (Notts County) and Louis Jackson (Solihull Moors) have also returned from their loans.
