Pellistri ready for more game-time

Facundo Pellistri is set to get more game-time with Manchester United's Under-23s as he continues his integration with the club.

The 18-year-old signed from Penarol on deadline day and has been on the bench in the Champions League.

However, his first outing for the Reds came in the 2-1 victory over Everton in Premier League 2 and he looks set to feature for Neil Wood's youngsters again on Friday, when we meet Brighton & Hove Albion in another live MUTV game (15:00 GMT kick-off).

“He’s a young boy coming over and it’s all new for him,” Ole Gunnar Solskjaer explained to us. “He’ll need a few games in the Reserves, of course, to try to find his feet in a new country.

“It’s been very positive so far and he’s someone we’ll be patient with and we’ll give him time to settle in and get used to us. You’ll see him in the Reserves, probably in the next game.”

Pellistri operates in midfield and can link play from the no.10 position. Although he is adjusting to the big move from South America, the Uruguayan displayed some encouraging signs during a tough test against the Toffees' youngsters, as the Reds came from behind to win 2-1.

The following fixture for Wood's side is in the EFL Trophy, against Morecambe, on Wednesday 18 November, which may provide a possible introduction to the English men's game for Pellistri, who has already played a lot of senior football in his homeland.
