Which Old Trafford atmosphere is the most memorable to you?
We've asked our supporters across social media ahead of Sunday’s Emirates FA Cup quarter-final against Liverpool at the Theatre of Dreams.
The likes of Rio Ferdinand, Wayne Rooney and John O’Shea have all spoken about the importance of our fans, with a place in the semi-finals and potential silverware on the line.
There are so many iconic atmospheres from our incomparable history and it’s fair to say Reds of all ages have different preferences, as you can see in these answers...
“Anyone who was at the United v Barcelona game in 1984 will say that game. I was in the Stretford Paddock.”
John Lucy: “The United v Real Madrid semi-final in 1968. I still recall no room to breathe and the noise when Besty scored. What a night, what a club!”
Terry Butcher: “The best atmosphere I’ve been to at Old Trafford was Ronaldo’s return vs Newcastle. It was great, the ground was buzzing before, during and after the game.”
“Roma 7-1 is the best game I’ve ever been to at OT. The atmosphere was electric, and it was a tough away game before that. Totally done them over.”
Keith Jackson: “The best I’ve experienced at OT over a full 90 mins was the semi-final vs Barcelona in 2008.”
Claire Westlake: “My 1st game at OT was on 10th April 1993. Six minutes of injury time, two goals from Steve Bruce, Fergie jumping up and down on the pitch.”
“AC Milan in 2009 and Benfica in 2005. I couldn't hear myself speak at Benfica and Stretford End was amazing against AC.”
