It's been a rollercoaster first week as a Red for our latest summer signing, Andre Onana.
His first seven days alone have seen him travel through Milan, Carrington, New York, San Diego and Houston.
He's said farewell to his former club Internazionale, met his new team-mates, taken part in his first training session, and then made his inaugural appearance as a United player - in Wednesday's friendly with Real Madrid in Texas.
In the middle of all of that, Onana sat down with club media to conduct his first proper interview since completing that big summer move from Serie A to the Premier League.
Here are five top takeaways from the goalkeeper's insightful introductory chat...
“It’s amazing. You can’t understand [the reaction in my home country] even if I explained. The thing is, Cameroon, you divide it by two: you have the English side and the French side. The English side, they are all fans of Man United, so you can imagine this is something amazing for all of us. They are very happy and they are proud. And it’s all the continent, because I have friends almost everywhere in Africa and their reaction is amazing. They are texting me and they are already writing to me and it’s amazing. It’s amazing for us, it’s great, and now it’s time to work and to win trophies.”
“I’m very comfortable playing from the back but it depends. I think the most important thing is to recognise the situation and that’s what I do myself: read the situation, especially what the team needs in certain moments. When we play, depending on who we play, sometimes you have the possession and sometimes not, so from there you have to be smart and try to help the team. Because most of the time playing with these players is amazing. I had my first training session with them and it’s just amazing the quality here. It’s great. I think a lot of the time we will have possession. Sometimes I have to play higher and sometimes I have to drop. It’s just the moments and you have to recognise those moments and from there on, we look forward. But I look at myself as a modern goalkeeper, so I can adapt to any situation.”
“We have done a lot of great things together. We reached the semi-finals of the Champions League at Ajax and it was not something easy. Doing this with a smaller club like Ajax is something you do every 20 or 25 years. We have a good relationship and he’s a top coach; for me he’s one of the best in the world. But it’s not about saying it, it’s time to demonstrate it. But I’m sure with the team and the spirit we have, we’ll fight for it, and I hope we’re going to be successful here.”
“[My] message to our fans is that we’re going to fight for everything. I can promise that on the pitch we will leave everything. It’s going to be hard to win against us. I think if we continue to work like this, we have to be United, we have to be together, and together we can achieve a lot of great things. Because us, we need them, and with them I’m sure we will go far.”
