‘BEST CUP COMPETITION IN THE WORLD’
Speaking on MUTV after the draw, two-time FA Cup winner David May gave his reaction: “It will be a tough game,”
he told us.
“To be fair, all you can ask for in any draw is a home tie and I would expect Manchester United to win any game at home. But as we know, Brighton are a tough team. We beat them 4-2 earlier this season, but it's a tough tie.
“The FA Cup is huge and it's a competition that we've got a great record in. It's something that the fans can enjoy. If you get through this leg and you can get to the fifth and sixth rounds, you start to think about Wembley. I’ve played in FA Cup finals and it's the best cup competition in the world, it really is.”
‘I WANTED MACCLESFIELD AT HOME!’
Wes Brown, another two-time winner, is pleased to be at Old Trafford but admits he wanted another opponent.
“It always helps when you've already beaten your opponents. But we've seen what Brighton have done since then, they have picked up points and they've been winning games.
“Like Maysie said, a home draw is the most important thing. I wanted Macclesfield and it wasn't to be! Listen, if you were to choose, you wouldn't pick Brighton, but it's so important that we're at home and I’m looking forward to it.”
