Manchester United defender Tyrell Malacia is on course to return to action early next year, as he recovers from a knee injury.
The Dutch left-back has not played so far this season, following an operation over the summer.
Unfortunately, he suffered a setback during his rehabilitation, which required further surgery.
This has been successfully completed and Malacia is now back at Carrington and working hard to be fit early in the new year.
The 24-year-old Netherlands international has made 39 appearances for Erik ten Hag's team in total, since signing from Feyenoord in 2022.
Fellow left-back Luke Shaw has returned from his injury lay-off, playing against Everton and Galatasaray in the past week.
The Reds' next assignment is a third successive match on the road, away to Newcastle United on Saturday, with the game kicking off at 20:00 GMT.
