Wilcox receives The FA's red legacy cap

Manchester United director of football Jason Wilcox has proudly received The FA’s red legacy cap in recognition of his England career.

The men’s national team introduced legacy numbers back in 2019 to mark the 1,000th England fixture. It is a unique and chronological list of every senior player dating back to 1872.

At the time of writing, 1,299 players have appeared for England.

Wilcox is number 1,073 on that long list, between Robbie Fowler and Sol Campbell.

Jason made three appearances for England between 1996 and 2000.

He made his debut as a substitute against Hungary before appearing against France and Argentina.

United’s director of football was presented with his red legacy cap before our last Premier League match at Old Trafford, from The FA's technical director John McDermott.

The legacy programme is supported by the National Football Museum, with Toye, Kenning & Spencer continuing to produce all commemorative caps for all debutants.
