Jess Simpson signs first professional contract

Manchester United is delighted to announce that Jess Simpson has signed her first professional contract with the club.

The 18-year-old defender was part of United’s Under-21 WSL Academy League and cup-winning side, before stepping up to the first team this season and making her first appearance in our 10-0 friendly win over Birkirkara FC in Malta.
Simpson signs her contract, alongside women's head coach Marc Skinner and women's Academy manager/first-team coach Charlotte Healy.
Jess Simpson said:
“I’m super excited to sign professional at this wonderful football club. It’s so special.

“It’s been such a good journey here, starting from 11 years old with the Academy. It’s been my dream since being a little kid to play for Manchester United, and I’m living that dream now.”

Marc Skinner said:
“Jess is an exciting young talent, and we are delighted that she has signed her first professional contract with the club.

“Manchester United is incredibly proud of its youth pathway for both women and men, with Jess now becoming the 11th Academy graduate to sign for our women’s first team since it reformed in 2018.”

Everyone at the club would like to congratulate Jess and wish her the best for luck for her professional career.
