IG DMs: Kleberson's touching message to Cunha

Manchester United’s first Brazilian player, Kleberson, has shared a heartfelt message of support for his compatriot Matheus Cunha via Instagram.

Our former midfielder joined the club in 2003 - a year after winning the World Cup, no less - and went on to make 30 appearances across two seasons, lifting the FA Cup in 2004.

While Kleberson’s United career was ultimately short-lived, he secured a place in Reds history as our first-ever Samba Star.

Kleberson joined United in 2003 alongside a young Cristiano Ronaldo.

He proudly paved the way for another 10 Brazilians to follow in his footsteps:

Anderson, Rodrigo Possebon, Rafael and Fabio da Silva, Andreas Pereira, Fred, Alex Telles, Casemiro, Antony and new signing Cunha.

Kleberson celebrated his 46th birthday last week and, on the occasion, we passed on our best wishes via Instagram.

While in his DMs, we couldn't help but ask for his words of advice to Matheus…

“Hello!! Thank you so much for the birthday message, it truly means a lot to me,” Kleber wrote back on social media.

Cunha: United are my dream teamvideo

“Wishing Matheus Cunha all the best on this new journey. I'm confident that his arrival will bring great job and many titles to Manchester United.

“Wishing him much success on and off the pitch!

“Warm regards, Kleberson.”
