Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez was impressed with the backing from the Old Trafford crowd during the Reds’ 2-1 win over Liverpool on Monday evening.
United got off the mark in the new Premier League season following a thrilling performance at an atmospheric Theatre of Dreams.
It is safe to say that summer signing Martinez enjoyed his first experience of his new home under the lights, and his showing on the pitch displayed that, as the defender was voted as your Man of the Match.
Off the back of his first Reds win, Martinez spoke of the importance of the result as a building block, while also recognising the role of the home supporters.
“UNITED!! Great team and fighting spirit, only the first step but an important one to keep growing stronger together,”Lisandro posted on social media after the game.
