Shaw: We feel unbeatable at Old Trafford

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has paid homage to our unwavering home support this season, insisting at times the Reds feel 'unbeatable' at Old Trafford.

In what has been a magnificent campaign in terms of our record at the Theatre of Dreams, Erik ten Hag's side have only lost once there in the Premier League in 2022/23 so far, with that defeat coming against Brighton & Hove Albion on the opening day of the season.

Having since gone on to register significant victories against Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool among others in M16, the Reds know that picking up just one more point against Chelsea this evening will guarantee our qualification for next season's UEFA Champions League.

Speaking candidly about the support he has felt from the stands this term, Luke praised the United faithful ahead of the final two league games.

Shaw: Bournemouth away is never easyvideo

''It’s tough to say what it is, but the atmosphere the fans create definitely helps,
“ began Shaw, speaking to club media.

They’ve been amazing this season, home and away. But I think when we’re at Old Trafford we feel unbeatable, we feel good and when we’re there, the mentality is right and that needs to stay that way.

''We also need to have the results we’ve been having at home in away games. That’s where we’ve been poor this season, in away games at times, especially in the big matches when we’ve not been ourselves.

''That’s something we know we need to improve on. But the home performances and results have been very good.''
Playing host to Frank Lampard's side this evening, the Reds also have Fulham to come this weekend, before our attention quickly turns to the all-Manchester Emirates FA Cup final on Saturday 3 June at Wembley Stadium.

As we approach another vital few days in the season, Shaw commented on how a strong level of team spirit can also spur both himself and his fellow players to victory as the Reds look to extend the unbeaten home run to 28 and then 29 games.

''I think there is a lot of confidence and belief that when we’re at home, we can always win our games,'' said the United defender.

''As I said before, with our fans, we always feel like we have an extra man and we just have to be confident and make sure we’re giving 100 per cent.

''At times this season, we’ve let ourselves down when we’ve not done that and you can see that with the results.

''If we’re all there, 100 per cent committed and focused, then I have no worries that we’ll win every game that we play.''
