Our XI of one-goal Reds

We decided to compile a team of former Manchester United players who scored a single goal during their stay at Old Trafford.

On the day 20 years ago that Jaap Stam netted his only United strike - during the 6-2 thumping of Leicester City at Filbert Street in the Treble-winning campaign, we have opted for a 4-4-2 formation with plenty of options for the bench who just missed out. These include forwards Mame Biram Diouf and Laurie Cunningham.

Peter Schmeichel: The goalkeeper made 398 appearances - and famously scored against Rotor Volgograd!

John Sivebaek: The Dane made 34 appearances and netted against QPR in Alex Ferguson's first match.

Chris McGrath: The Northern Irishman made 34 appearances and scored against West Ham.

Mark Jones: He registered 121 appearances and one goal, scored against Birmingham City.

Jaap Stam: The big Dutchman bagged his only goal from 127 appearances against Leicester City.

Graeme Hogg: The ex-Red clocked up 110 appearances and only scored against Birmingham City.

Chris Eagles: The Academy graduate made 17 first-team appearances and scored against Everton.

Ian Ure: The Scot made 65 appearances... and saved his only goal for historic rivals Liverpool!

Gabriel Obertan: The pacey Frenchman made 28 appearances and scored against Bursaspor.

Terry Gibson: From 27 appearances, his only goal was scored against Arsenal.

Jesper Blomqvist: The Swedish Treble-winner tallied 38 appearances scored once against Everton.
