United launch Sunflower Lanyard Scheme

The club have today launched the official Manchester United Sunflower Lanyard Scheme for those with non-visible disabilities.

The lanyard will help others to identify those who may need some more support on a matchday, particularly those who might struggle in large crowds and noisy environments.

The introduction of the scheme is part of the club’s commitment to more inclusive matchday experiences, following its recent participation in Level Playing Field’s ‘Unite For Access’ campaign.

The lanyard helps others to identify those who may need some more support on a matchday.

By wearing the lanyard, fans with hidden disabilities will be visible to stewards, supporters, and other staff, making it easier to receive help when needed.

You can apply for a lanyard here.

Supporters attending the Foundation's Ability Counts programme - a pan-disability football programme for players with disabilities aged 5-25 and their friends and family – said:

“It means that others will be aware that I may need extra support and time.”

“The sunflower lanyard means the whole experience is accessible for everyone, making it stress free and meaning I’m able to enjoy the game.”

“It highlights my needs when queueing, respecting my space, and considering my reactions to loud noises.”
