United learn FA Cup fourth-round opponents

Manchester United will play at home to Reading in the Emirates FA Cup fourth round.

The tie will be played at Old Trafford between Friday 27 and Monday 30 January 2023, with an exact date and time to be confirmed in due course.

Former England internationals Karen Bardsley and Emile Heskey conducted the draw alongside host Mark Chapman, as part of the BBC's live build-up to this afternoon's third-round match between Manchester City and Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium (KO 16:30 GMT).

United defeated Everton 3-1 in the third round on Friday evening, with Antony's opener, Conor Coady's own goal and a stoppage-time penalty from Marcus Rashford enough to secure our progression in the competition that we have won 12 times.

The Royals currently occupy 13th spot in the Championship and are managed by former United midfielder Paul Ince.

They secured their spot in the fourth round on Saturday following a 2-0 home win against fellow second-tier outfit Watford.

Three of our last four meetings with the Berkshire club have come in the FA Cup - all at Old Trafford - with United winning each one, most recently in the 2018/19 season.
