Van de Beek shares positive footage of his rehab

Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek has shared a positive update regarding his ongoing rehabilitation from a serious knee injury.

The 25-year-old Dutchman sustained a season-ending injury when he collided with Bournemouth's Marcos Senesi during the first half of January’s Premier League win at Old Trafford.

Van de Beek subsequently had surgery and at that time he reported it all went to plan, telling fans:
“It’s time to start my recovery process and I will do everything to come back stronger for this club”
.

Now, almost two months’ later, Donny has uploaded a short video to social media that shows him working hard on his rehab, building up his strength with a series of exercises in the gym.

In the caption that accompanies his video, van de Beek provides this short and determined update to supporters.

“Trust the process. Step by step.”

Speaking on 13 January, Ten Hag confirmed van de Beek is unavailable for the rest of this season but the manager was confident his compatriot will be ready for Tour 2023.

“I think it is quite positive news,” Erik told us at Carrington. “Of course, the bad news is he is out for the rest of the season, but the good news is, in the long term, his knee will be okay and he will be ready again to play at the highest levels and will be ready for the start of pre-season.”
