Why the Reds are ranking highly at Euro 2024

Three different Manchester United players have scored at Euro 2024 so far - and no other club has had more.

Bruno Fernandes slipped home Cristiano Ronaldo's square pass to claim the third goal in Portugal's 3-0 victory over Altay Bayindir's Turkey at the weekend.

Christian Eriksen's fine strike in Denmark's 1-1 draw with Slovenia and Scott McTominay's deflected effort when Scotland had the same scoreline, against Switzerland, has ensured three of our eight representatives at the tournament have found the net in the group stages.

Although McTominay's nation are out, after the agonising defeat to Hungary, the midfielder would have been suspended for the next match in any case, and he finished as the only scorer for Steve Clarke's men.

When will United's new home shirt be on sale?

Two other clubs have had three different players on the scoresheet in Germany.

Real Madrid's Jude Bellingham (England), Dani Carvajal (Spain) and Arda Guler (Turkey) have been on the mark already. Marko Arnautovic's penalty for Austria, against Poland, means he has boosted Internazionale's tally to three after Nicolo Barella and Alessandro Bastoni's goals for Italy. Arnautovic is turning his loan from Bologna to Inter into a permanent deal so we've counted him as their player.

Bologna are one of six clubs with two players on target at Euro 2024. Switzerland pair Michael Aebischer and Dan Ndoye, who opened the scoring in Sunday night's draw with hosts Germany, are both with the Serie A outfit.

In terms of other English sides, Manchester City duo Kevin De Bruyne (Belgium) and Bernardo Silva (Portugal) have netted, while players from Arsenal (Kai Havertz of Germany), Aston Villa (Belgium's Youri Tielemans), Burnley (ex-Reds striker Wout Weghorst with the Netherlands) and Liverpool (Dutch striker Cody Gakpo) have all bagged one apiece.

There is still the prospect of more Reds scoring at the tournament, with Kobbie Mainoo hoping for his first tournament start when England take on Slovenia in their Group C finale on Tuesday and, at the same time, Rasmus Hojlund goes hunting for his first major finals strike in Denmark's clash with Serbia.

Diogo Dalot could return to Portugal's side for their Group F encounter against Georgia on Wednesday night.

Scott McTominay scored Scotland's only goal at Euro 2024.
