Twelve games to go, let's continue to move forward

Manchester United are preparing to return to Premier League action, sitting top of the form table in 2026 and feeling determined to finish the season strongly.

No team has won more points from seven matches this year (15), thanks mainly to the five performances that Michael Carrick has overseen as head coach.

The year began with back-to-back draws at Leeds United and Burnley.

Carrick’s appointment until the end of the season was then announced on 13 January and the United legend made an instant impact by defeating rivals Manchester City in a classic encounter at the Theatre of Dreams.

That was followed by an entertaining victory over league leaders Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, the Gunners’ first loss in north London this season.

Old Trafford successes against Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur added weight to United’s momentum, with supporters lapping up the spirited, attacking football.
A fifth consecutive win was denied by West Ham United last time out, but Benjamin Sesko’s late equaliser in added time highlighted a doggedness within the group that has so many fans feeling optimistic about the season run-in.
